OVERVIEW
The age of exploration is far from over.
Welcome to Earth takes Will Smith on a once-in-a-lifetime journey into the planet's most extraordinary and least-understood corners – descending into a live volcano, tracking animal swarms with minds of their own, and venturing into deserts and depths that push at the edge of human perception. Guided by a team of elite explorers and scientists, the six-part limited series pairs breathtaking cinematography with a sense of genuine wonder, revealing an Earth that still holds its secrets.
Produced by Westbrook Studios with Jane Root's Nutopia and Darren Aronofsky's Protozoa Pictures for National Geographic, the series premiered on Disney+ in December 2021. An Emmy winner and Smith's first expedition series with National Geographic, it set the template for the premium, globe-spanning documentary work that Westbrook has continued to build with the same creative team.
